Overview

Workwear that works smarter

In industrial environments, safety teams manage more than the protective clothing itself. They need to know who has been issued a coverall, where garments are being used, when they were last washed or inspected, and when they may need to be replaced.

They may also need better visibility of personnel moving between designated work areas.

Sensori Smart Coveralls can be fitted with a unique RFID tag that gives each garment a digital identity. When the coverall is assigned to a worker, authorised teams can use compatible readers and software to record garment information and detect movement through monitored locations.

The result is a more connected approach to managing protective workwear, personnel movement and PPE inventory.

How Sensori Smart Coveralls work

1

Tag the coverall

Each coverall is fitted with a suitable RFID tag and assigned a unique digital identity.

2

Register and assign

The coverall is registered in the system and linked to a worker, department, contractor or location, as required by the organisation.

3

Read and record

Handheld or fixed readers capture the tag at designated points. Depending on the workflow, these reads can record garment issue and return, movement through monitored access points, or other relevant events.

4

Monitor and manage

Authorised teams can use the available information to review garment records, monitor movement at reader locations and support PPE planning.

Capability 01

Digital identity for every garment

Each tagged coverall has its own digital identity, making it easier to distinguish and manage individual garments across a workforce.

What this can support
  • Identification of individual coveralls
  • Assignment to workers, teams or contractors
  • Records of garment type, size and issue date
  • Visibility of garments across sites and departments

Capability 02

Worker movement tracking with RFID readers

When a tagged coverall is correctly assigned to a worker, compatible readers can detect the tag as the worker passes through designated locations. This can help organisations understand movement into and out of monitored areas.

Fixed readers may be installed at selected entry and exit points, while handheld readers can be used for checks and verification.

Potential applications include
  • Recording entry and exit at designated work areas
  • Supporting personnel accountability at monitored locations
  • Identifying movement between operational zones
  • Supporting checks at muster points or other designated locations
  • Providing movement records for review and reporting
How it works: The reader detects the tagged coverall, and the system records the read at that location. If the garment is assigned to a worker, the event can be associated with that worker’s profile.

Garment issue and return

Keep a clearer record of coveralls issued to employees and contractors, and capture returns as part of the garment management process.

What this can support
  • Worker-wise garment allocation
  • Issue and return records
  • Tracking of garments sent for washing or repair
  • Improved accountability across teams and shifts

Capability 04

Wash and service history

Protective clothing needs appropriate care throughout its working life. Sensori can help organisations maintain available records of garment washing, inspection and servicing.

What this can support
  • Recording wash cycles
  • Maintaining inspection and repair histories
  • Identifying garments due for review
  • Supporting decisions on continued use or replacement

Capability 05

Inspection and replacement planning

Garment history can help HSE teams identify coveralls that may need attention. Configured criteria can support alerts or review schedules based on factors such as time in use, recorded wash cycles or inspection status.

This can help teams plan replacements more effectively and maintain a more consistent PPE management process.

Inventory and procurement visibility

Understanding how many coveralls are in circulation, in storage, being washed or awaiting replacement can help improve inventory planning.

What this can support
  • Visibility of garment allocation and stock
  • Planning for new worker and contractor requirements
  • More informed replenishment decisions
  • Reduced time spent on manual garment reconciliation

Capability 07

Digital records and reporting

Bring available garment and reader information together in a digital system to support oversight and reporting. Depending on the solution, authorised users can review information such as:

  • Coveralls assigned to workers or departments
  • Garment issue, return and service records
  • Reads recorded at monitored locations
  • Garments requiring inspection or review
  • Inventory and replacement requirements
